Workplace Safety: How We Prevent Fires in the Factory

Every Monday, Taifu holds a safety meeting reminding all staff to protect themselves and others: wear safety shoes, goggles and gloves, and use helmets and safety harnesses when working at height.

Fires occur in plastics-related industries every year, so fire prevention is a priority for us. Our approach rests on three points:

• Training: all employees are trained in using fire extinguishers, evacuation routes, fire prevention in the workshop and proper workwear.
• Infrastructure: site facilities must fully meet fire codes — clear fire lanes, maintained hydrants and so on.
• Drills and maintenance: regular fire drills, plus routine maintenance of machines and wiring to prevent short circuits.

Following the national fire regulations in daily work, raising safety awareness and inspecting site facilities routinely are the simplest and most effective ways to keep everyone safe.
